How many crates do I need?

For house moves we offer complete home moving crate rental packages containing the optimal amount of crates for a move of a 1, 2, 3, or 4 bed roomed property. Alternatively for home moves you can request the exact number of crates you want supported by our crate calculator tool (again based on a headcount).

Should I rent or buy crates?

If you need crates for a one off event the only viable option would be to rent. However if you are looking to have the crates in use for an extended period, it may be beneficial to enquire about what crates we have for sale. Also, if you would like to use the crates on your clients’ premises or for open storage, then we can supply new crates, which would look good on display.

Do you sell new crates?

Yes. If you wish to purchase new crates please contact us on 0800 980 6996 to discuss your requirements. New crates can be purchased in specified colours and with logo branding if required (minimum quantities apply).

Do you sell used crates?

How do I pay for my crates?

If you are renting online via you will be required to pay by credit or debit card. If you are a commercial customer and you’d prefer to set up a trade account please contact us on 0800 980 6996 to set up a trade account.

How do I know my credit card information is secure?

RapidSSL provides us with a strong 256-bit capable SSL encryption, which securely handles your personal data. SagePay provide secure credit card transactions through their highly secure service. We do not hold any credit card information. Please check for the padlock at the foot of the browser and the HTTPS: in your address bar for piece of mind.

How does your crate rental charging system work?

Online rentals will be chargeable in advance.

Does Rentacrate notify me about un-returned crates?

Yes, we will send you an email notification itemising all outstanding rental products that have not been received by us on the agreed collection/return date.

What happens if I don't return all the crates that I rented on time?

These crates will continue to incur a weekly rental charge at the same rate. You will receive an email notification detailing all outstanding items. Payments for ongoing rental will be debited at weekly intervals until the outstanding items are returned. Should you wish to purchase the crates as lost, then please let us know in writing as soon as possible.

How much notice do you need to deliver crates to me?

Next day delivery is standard on all orders placed before 5pm. Do you deliver on weekends? No, our normal delivery hours are Monday – Friday from 8.30 to 5.00pm, although special weekend delivery can be arranged subject to a charge. What options do you offer on delivery? We have many special delivery options (some of them you wont find anywhere else!)

Can I extend my rental?

Should you require an extended rental period please contact us no later than the day prior to collection and we will be happy to help.

What if I need to cancel my order?

Please contact us as soon as possible. We will endeavour to cancel your order and provide a full refund.

Are the crates stackable?

Yes, lidded crates may be stacked on top of each other when their lids are closed or nested within each other when empty with the lids open. Unlidded crates can also be nested when empty, but also feature 2 x side bale arms that can be pulled out to support the weight of a crate on top when the crates are filled. This means that the contents of the crates underneath will not be damaged.

What are the crates made of?

They are made from a tough polypropylene.

Can the crates be sealed for security?

Our lidded crates can be sealed for security, and can be stacked and moved using our skates and handling equipment. Accessories are also available to label your crates, and protect the contents. If you have goods that need extra protection in transit, our consumable packaging range includes quilted covers and bubble wrap all available on next day delivery.

How environmentally sustainable are your crates?

All our crates are made from 100% recyclable plastic. Being re-useable, plastic crates are inherently more sustainable than single or limited use alternatives like cardboard.

What time will my Delivery/Collection be made?

Our deliveries are normally made in the morning (08:30 – 12:30), and collections are scheduled for afternoons (12:30 – 17:30).
