ABOUT US

Rentacrate's Board of Directors boast a cumulative 43 years experience in crate rental and our 4 Customer Service Team Leaders boast an impressive cumulative 51 years experience!

Beyond years served, our company's real strength is in the sheer dedication and commitment to getting things right…first time…every time…

Rentacrate's Operations Director, Mark Pawsey, introduces just a selection of the key operations team who contribute to Rentacrate's unique commitment to excellence in customer service.

Bernie Green

March 2005 sees Bernie Green mark 16 years service at Rentacrate.
Bernie joined Rentacrate as a Warehouse Operative in 1989 when the company was based at Crimscott Street.
These days Bernie can more often be found map reading in one of Rentacrate’s brand new vehicles, signing up a delivery note or engaged in placing crates at customers premises across the whole of London and the South East.
Born and bred in South London, Bernie says ‘Some cockneys feel a long way from home north of Watford Gap. I get the same feeling as soon as I cross the river. I never mind working in North London or making the occasional social visit but I wouldn’t like to live there!’
Bill Talbot, Director, adds ‘ Bernie’s loyalty to Rentacrate is quite remarkable. There’s not a lot we can teach him about crates and there’s not a lot ANYONE can teach him about South London’.

Gary Bayes

Director Bill Talbot says 'We have employed a good many new drivers during 2004 and the task of training and setting standards has been made all the easier having retained the likes of Gary'.
Gary Bayes joined Rentacrate in 1998 in the capacity of Driver's Mate. After gaining experience on the road and in warehouse operation, Gary made himself an obvious choice for promotion to light van then 7.5 ton Driver. Gary is currently taking HGV training and it is expected that he will soon be at the wheel of a brand new HGV vehicle.
Gary says 'It's great to see the changes at Rentacrate making a difference at Driver Level. Taking a pride in what we do is made all the easier when you're at the wheel of a vehicle which, not only looks smart, but is well kitted out with a few well earned creature comforts'.
Outside of work Gary is a keen Millwall fan and after the disappointment of last years FA Cup Final, is thoroughly enjoying changes ringing through his local team as well. Here's to Premiership football in 2005!

Colin Sefton

Colin Sefton, one of two Operations Supervisors, based at the company’s London Depot joined the business in May 2003 and has been part of the culture change sweeping through the business.
Colin says ‘One of the key functions I was asked to manage when I joined the company was tacho control and vehicle maintenance. I was up to date with tacho laws and my early work experience as a mechanic was considered valuable in this area. I have to admit there were a few things, which needed a little tidying up so I was really pleased when in November 2004 we had a visit from the Vehicle Inspectorate and sailed through with flying colours. In fact, the comments made by the inspector were so complementary that I couldn’t help sharing them with our drivers…in writing!’
Colin has since taken his CPC (Transport Managers License) and, not surprisingly, passed at the first attempt. Congratulations Colin!
